Conditions inside the Ohio fur farm that was in the news last week were terrible, but not unique. This was filmed at the Smeal fox farm in Scribner, Nebraska, where foxes continue to suffer in horribly small cages inside ramshackle sheds.
Foxes are social animals, but on fur farms they have no opportunity to socialize. Digging a den or other natural behaviors are impossible. These animals are tormented and killed for nothing more than a luxury item.
There are only a couple dozen fox farms remaining in the U.S.
